Reflection of Goa-Dandeli Trip, March’12
To first conquer a journey, you have to plan. The planning of this trip I would say was the most interesting as well as most dreadful part. Deciding where to go, inquiring, booking. This also counted to me as an adventure, because it seems easy, but is so not.

Finally when the moment came that we had our luggage in our hand and the tickets in the other, it was hard to believe that we were finally going. Day by day packed adventure was awaiting us.
From the very first day, it was just activity after another and finding ways in a strange city, running and rushing to reach on time. We performed several activities, actives which list under “Adventure Sports”, for say Paragliding, Parasailing River Rafting, River crossing, Jet Ski rides, Jungle Safari etc.
All I can say for these activities is, never miss out on any of them.

When we were performing these water activities, for a person who doesn’t know how to swim and has a fear of heights, the idea of parasailing can get really scaring. To me, Parasailing came as a whole package of fear. Even then I didn’t want to miss out; I braced myself together, confirmed with the instructor that the life jacket   wouldn’t let me drown and went for it. I had goose bumps rising all over my body but when I was up there at that height and with that beautiful beach under me, my fears were the last thing I could think of. I screamed and yelled in joy and wanted it to never end. I know it sounds a little too dramatic but this is how it was.

Another activity that truly amazed me was river rafting; I can honestly say there’s no activity like this one. Either it’s when you are riding with or against the waves, there nothing more astonishing than it.  When your rafting your own little boat and the water waves pass through you with a high chance that they will take you with them off the boat, the only thing on your mind is grab the boat as hard as you can and enjoy the wave. It’s not every day you get to go on a CAS trip.
Every day all of us would be so tired and as soon as the sun went down, we were ready to hit the bed.

Dandeli was another challenge along the road, a deserted village, and a deserted resort with nothing but jungle around for 20 kilometres. Also network bar issues, dandeli was the place that got us all out of our comfort zones, no cell phones, no internet, thousands of mosquitoes waiting to attack, another city food which seemed strange to us. It was really hard getting used to all this but somehow we managed or let’s say the activities barely gave us time and energy to be bothered.
Soon enough these 8 days had passed, it was time for us to go back to square one and back to our normal lives which now felt adventure less looking at what we had seen there, for the first few days the routine felt dead since there were no planned activities or anything. Gradually it was the same again.
